Questions

Things people ask about engineered timber flooring

What is engineered timber flooring?

A real oak veneer, typically around 3 to 4mm thick, bonded to a multi-ply core. You walk on genuine timber, and the layered core underneath keeps the board stable as Melbourne swings between humid and dry.

Can engineered timber go over concrete or tiles?

Yes. Our boards can be floated over an acoustic underlay, glued directly to a concrete slab, or glued and secret nailed to a timber subfloor. We will recommend the right method once we have seen the site.

Does engineered timber work with underfloor heating?

Often it does. Tell us what heating system you have and we will advise on compatible boards and the right installation method.

How long will an engineered oak floor last?

With sensible care, decades. Our engineered oak floors carry at least a 25 year residential structural and surface warranty.
